God is amazing! Before we left for the British Isles our team was asked to share favorite life verses for our trip. My passage was Philippians 4:6-7. “do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Today we went to the Queen’s Park in Edinburgh, Scotland to prayer walk. Allie, JD, Austin and I decided to climb a crag (a mountain that overlooks the entire city). While we were traveling up the mountain we stopped to pray and take a break. One of the things I specifically prayed for was the opportunity to speak with someone about Christ. Literally five minutes later, I got that opportunity! A lady named Kanwal, who is Muslim, was out exercising and stopped at the same time I did to take a break. I discovered that her family was from Pakistan but moved to Scotland for her husband’s work. Our conversation eventually led to matters of faith, and she listened to how Jesus had changed my life. She asked me if I have peace about my faith, and I was able to share with her Philippians 4:6-7. Although our conversation was short, we exchanged email addresses, she gave me a hug and a kiss on the cheek, and then she thanked me for my kindness. It is amazing to me to think that God sent me across the world to speak with this woman from Pakistan about how much my Father loves me. It is by his grace that He has sent me to not only serve Him but also share with others that same LOVE!! -BK (Brittany Kent)
