“You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you.” (John 15:16, NASB)
For me college was a time of tremendous spiritual growth. I started my freshman year running from God’s plan for me and ended it surrendered to that fact God had something completely different in mind. Through serving in my local church as a college student, I was able to explore and develop my gifts and passions. Using John 15:16, God confirmed a calling to mobilize students for missions.
As a campus minister I have the privilege of watching students develop a heart for the nations through missions experiences. But it’s not just about going somewhere. It is realizing that God has appointed them to their current circumstances to make a difference by living on mission where they are. It’s about doing life with the great intentionality and purpose that they have on short-term mission trips.
Today as you pray for our campuses, pray for Christians on campus to daily live with that great intentionality in order to see their roommates, classmates, friends and professors know Christ.
